Position Summary
The
Social Media Coordinator supports the Promotions and Media team by creating and executing engaging digital content that enhances the Reading Royals brand, drives fan engagement, and supports ticket sales and community initiatives. This role plays a key part in both in-season coverage and offseason digital storytelling, working closely with the Media Manager and Promotions team to maintain a consistent and engaging online presence.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $18.50.

About The Venue
Santander Arena , located in downtown Reading, Pennsylvania, is a versatile venue that serves as the home arena for the Reading Royals, the ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers. The Santander Arena has hosted an array of live events including concerts, Disney on Ice, and other family friendly events attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.
Responsibilities
In-Season Responsibilities:
- Assist with the day-to-day management of the Reading Royals’ social media platforms, including Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, TikTok, and others.
- Provide live, in-game digital coverage for all home games, including real-time highlight clips, score updates, and fan engagement content.
- Capture walk-in photos, pregame visuals, and behind-the-scenes content for multi-platform use.
- Produce and publish content during intermissions highlighting concourse events, fan interactions, promotions, and in-arena experiences.
- Assist with postgame content, recaps, and highlights to maintain fan engagement.
- Provide digital coverage on multiple platforms for away games.
- Support sponsored content, promotions, giveaways, and special theme nights.
Offseason & Program Support
- Continue digital content creation and platform management during the offseason to maintain fan engagement and brand visibility.
- Create and publish TikTok and social content promoting team initiatives, community events, and organizational programming.
- Capture photo and video content at Reading Jr. Royals camps, clinics, and youth programs, producing daily and weekly content to promote the program.
- Assist with content planning and execution for player signing announcements, roster teasers, and training camp coverage.
- Provide media support for team events and partnerships, including collaborative community and promotional events.
Additional Responsibilities
- E dit graphics and video content for digital platforms using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Assist with tracking and analyzing social media performance metrics to help inform content strategy.
- Maintain brand voice, tone, and visual consistency across all platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing, promotions, and community relations staff to support organizational goals.
- Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices within professional sports.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital content creation.
- 1-2 years of experience in social media /content creation.
- Experience creating short-form video and graphic content.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and game days.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, live-event environment.
- Passion for sports, fan engagement, and digital media.
